New coat and toy!

On the weekend, I got Bella a new coat(she has grown out of all her other ones!) and a new toy. She loved the toy so much, she decided to rip it's head off!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLA!!!!!!

It was Bella's 1st birthday on Sunday! Happy Birthday Bella!!! I got her 2 new toys and she LOVES them. I will post a photo and video when I go on the computer(I'm doing this in my iPad.)

Sadly, after about 3 weeks, she chewed it and ripped one of the pieces off. I. am. not. happy.

Bella will probably have to have surgery because she has this thing with her knee,(can't remember what it's called) where some part of the knee disconnects from another part, so now she can't even walk properly :(

Sore pup

I just came home from taking Bella to the vet because sometimes she starts limping and we think there is something wrong with her tummy. We got some medicine that I have to give her every day. It came down to $93.90

Loyal pup!

Today I came home from school early because I was really sick, but I was happy when I got home because my beautiful puppy slept next to me and kept me company. My mum is a massage therapist, and she had a client come over today, and Bella said hello and came straight back to me instead of staying near the person for 10 mins. She's the best puppy ever!!!!!!!

Working on heel!

Hey everyone! I taught Bella 'side'(She comes to my side) which I am now turning into 'heel'. Sadly, Bella won't be getting as much attention soon because school starts on Monday :(

Today Bella was a very happy dog! We were running heaps and playing fetch. Sadly, because we were running so much, she threw up, but I got some really cute photo's!(not of the vomit!)

Cheese!

I have recently found out that Bella LOVES cheese. I was doing a training session(I'm teaching her 'side') and she refused to eat the treats which she usually loves, so for some reason, I decided to give her cheese and she LOVED it! It will save me money too, since I won't have to buy the cheese as it is something that mum always buys. Bella also has a new hobby: chasing butterflies. She even chases their shadow's!

Hey everyone! I can't wait till Christmas! Bella really needs a new collar and another registration tag because she chewed them both. she has been chewing a lot lately, like about 2 weeks ago, she chewed the couch covers, she didn't do very much damage but mum had to pay $60 to get them fixed because it was the day after my auntie put them on gumtree and said that they were in excellent condition.

Roll over

I am currently teaching Bella to roll over, which is quite hard because she keeps getting up, can anybody help me?

I have discovered a new way to get your dog to not do something e.g chew shoes, nip etc. Okay, the answer is, when you see them do something that you don't like, tie them up on a long line or just their normal lead. It has definately worked for Bella! Yesterday she was going nuts when I was brushing her, which she doesn't normally do, so I tied her to a pole in my backyard, today she stood still unless there were knots that were hard to get out.

Work, car and dog park!

I did work experience at the Aldgate vet on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, which was sooooo fun! I think Bella is getting used to the car now, because when we went to the dog park the other day, on the way, she didn't whine AT ALL!(or throw up!) And she's getting used to other dogs now as well, as she plays now instead of backing up, which is good!

Bella has started copying what I do with the ball. Sometimes when I kick the soccer ball, it goes under things, so I use my foot to get it out. Bella has started doing the same thing. Today her ball went into the garden, and she used her paw to get it out!

Training Pads

The other day, mum got Bella some training pads. It didn't work out well. Bella chewed them up and dragged them across the floor, although she did pee on it this morning, which was good.

Bella is pretty much toilet trained! She has an accident every now and then but apart from that, she's good. I am teaching her "get it" where she retrieves an objet and holds it until I tell her to let go. She's pretty good, but today I did it for ages and she got bored and turned her head when I put the toy near her, but to show her that I finish the sessions, I waited until she did it, which took a while but she did it. She now does "door" perfectly. "door" is when she opens the door. I am also going to make this blog into a book.

Fast learner

This sounds weird but, I taught Bella how to get on the couch. Your probably thinking 'what?'. Let me explain, whenever I'm watching tv, Bella always watches it with me, on the couch but, there was a problem with that, she couldn't get up, so I had to lift her all the time, which got annoying, so I taught her how to jump up by herself. Now your probably thinking 'how did you do it?'. Well, I got 1 pillow and encouraged her to get on it, when she got good at that, I added another one and did the same thing over and over, until she was able to jump from the top pillow to the couch. Then I did exactly the same thing but backwards, when she got good at jumping from the pillows to the couch I took 1 pillow away, then, when she got good at that, I did the same thing. I know that your not supposed to have long training sessions with dogs, but we did this for about 1 hour and she didn't get bored, because it didn't seem like a training session, it was a game! My gorgeos pup can now get on and off the couch by herself! Oh, and she can stop a ball with her paws as well!

YAY!

I am currently on my new IPad 2!!!! All of the year 5's at my school got them, and we get to take them home!About Bella, she's great. I taught her to stand on her back legs, which she learnt in 2 days! I also took a photo of her, which is very cute, but I can't show you because it won't let me =(

So busy!

I've been so busy I haven't updated much. I am currently at dads but I will write what I can remember. I'm teaching Bella to drop(lie down), and she's doing really well, she understands the hand movement more than the verbal command, but she's still good! I took her to the park yesterday, and she loved it, exept for when some other dogs started chasing her, she didn't understand that they wanted to play, and whined when the other dog sniffed her as she was on her back and the dog had his paw on her stomach, and I think he stratched her because I gave her a bath when I got home and I saw a stratch on her leg =(.
